快乐中秋节 - Zhōngqiūjié kuàilè (Happy Mid-Autumn Festival)

9/30 --- Today was the Mid-Autumn Festival, a traditional Chinese holiday where families get together during the full moon and eat around a table.  The moon is supposed to signify the round completeness of the family coming together.  I think its much similar to Thanksgiving in the US.  To celebrate the festival we went out to Victoria Park, where the largest celebration occurs in Hong Kong.

To start off the day, Guy and I went out to Causeway Bay to meet Rong for an early dinner.  We got a few snacks from a local place recommended by Rong.  They sold some pretty weird stuff there, like octopus legs, some kind of intestines, and sharks fin.  I decided to be conservative and just stick with the octopus legs.

We then headed to a diner for dinner.  After eating those weird snacks, i figured i'd order something normal like chicken.

After dinner, we headed to the festival at Victoria's Park.  It was a very nice and friendly atmosphere, with many lights and lanterns, vendors, and stages with different shows.

We met up with a few other exchange students at the festival, and headed out to get dinner again at a Korean BBQ place.

Afterwards, we headed back to the festival and saw the fire-dragon dance, a tradition of the mid-autumn festival.  All of us then called it a night and headed back to campus.
